Ian Beale's heading back to the wonderful world of Walford later this summer! We last saw him taking off in his pyjamas and, after suffering a nervous breakdown thanks to money troubles and things not going so well with his latest bimbo, he seems to have ended up homeless and trampy! So, to put a smile back on his face, he's decided to return to the one place he knows everyone's always having the time of their lives. East-fucking-enders.
Where has he been? What's been going on? Will he be clean shaven this time next week? There's only one way to find out! Stop following the stories of soapland by simply popping in to your newsagents once a week to read the front of one or two hideously exagerative magazines ("TANYA DEAD?!!!") and instead, pick up that dusty old TV remote, navigate your way to 'BBC1' and sit the fuck down to watch the damn thing, from start to finish. It's only half an hour but it feels like more than half your life. Strap yourself in if you must.
It'd be smashing if Ian came back after having been on a whacky adventure that took him right the way around the world, which has transformed him into a 'wise old hobo'. He could become the 'Gandalf' of the show, standing in the middle of Albert Square bellowing, "You shall not walk on the grass!"
