New 'Man of Steel' poster reveals Superman's dark side

 Comments
A brand new poster has been released for the next Superman movie, 'Man of Steel', due for release in the UK 14th June next year. It looks as though this new adventure will follow in the footsteps of The Dark Knight Rises and delve deeper into the 'darker side' of the character, as he's seen being escorted from his local Aldi after having been spotted using his ability to move faster than the speed of light to sneak past the tills without paying for his groceries.

What will Disney do with Star Wars?

 Comments
Disney have only gone and got their grubby little hands on the Star Wars franchise, but what the hell are they planning to do with it? Squeeze it for all it's worth - that's what! Surely their first thoughts have been merchandise-related - stacks of new lunchboxes, talking action figures, trading cards, teddy bears, toilet seats, etc - but come 2015 they'll have to deliver the new movie they've promised everyone. Episode 7. But the question is, will it be more Jar Jar than Yoda? More Maul than Vadar? More green screen than actually surprisingly good visual effects considering when they were done? Review: Spider-man's almost amazing reboot

 Comments
Warning: A significant amount of spidey-spoilers included*

It's quite brave for a film to label itself and its main character as 'amazing', but 'The Amazing Spider-man' did and - is it as amazing as it thinks it is? No. It isn't. A more appropriate title would have been 'The Pretty Enjoyable But Nothing Special Spider-man'. In many ways, it's miles better than the original version, but there are also plenty of moments that don't sit right. It's stuck between living up to its 'amazing' title and being a film you'd simply rather watch when it's shown on ITV in about 10 years time, split in two halves by the 10 o'clock news.

Zap! Reviews - The Cabin In The Woods & The Avengers

 Comments
Be sure to check out this brand new 'Zap! Review', which sees Roo deliver his opinion on both The Avengers and The Cabin In The Woods at maximum speed.

What's so shocking about the fact that both these movies aren't just good, but really good, is that they are essentially old, tired ideas. Superhero movies have been done to death and The Cabin In The Woods had the potential of being yet another Final Destination or Scream-type kill-fest where the whole point is to just watch adolescents get picked off one by one, some with their tits out while it happens.
