Big soapy gays Syed & Christian are due to leave the happy world of Walford later this year, it has been revealed - but will they be leaving together, or in seperate black cabs after half an hour of shouting and crying? Only time will tell.
Soon, Gary Lucy will be playing the role of a new homosexual in Albert Square, 'Danny Pennant', and rumour has it he'll be balls deep in what's being described as a 'love triangle' with Syed and Christian. On top of that, Syed is due to have a go at earning a bit of extra dosh, but the way in which he goes about this will apparently be 'quite dodgy'. Sounds like thrilling television, but will all of this have anything to do with their depatures?
Since joining the show in 2008, Christian and Syed have been on many adventures and through a fair amount of turmoil. There've been arranged marriages and dark secrets, they've battled wicked step mums and violent Muslim hitmen - there's been big disagreements over adoption, Syed's had a secret baby even he didn't know about and Ben Mitchell lied about being fondled by Christian! Neither one has died or comitted a murder though, so they've gotten off quite lightly for Eastenders - so far!
The mysterious and unexplained sinister powers belonging to 'Albert Square' are similar to that of the island's off Lost. It knows - it knows all things. It'll know Christian and Syed plan on leaving and living happily ever after, and Albert Square loves just three things: death, destruction and misery in general. Can our favourite gays escape their final duff-duff with a smile on their faces?
